New Everything!

New Town & New World

First day of my new school in a new town and in a whole new world. This town I’m in is so small and so strange. There aren’t people like my family around here, at least not that I know of.

What do I mean about people not like my family? Well my mother is a witch... literally. Her name is Jennifer or Jen for short. Mother has long, red, beautiful hair, and bright blue eyes, that look like bright blue diamonds. She is also tall but not as tall as our father. Father, on the other hand, is very scrubby looking in the face, but very handsome. He has short black curly hair. He is the tallest one in the family and he is very strong. Our father’s name is Fred, he is a shape shifter.

Our father and mother have twelve children. In our world where different creatures have children together they normally do not have both powers. When they do have children with both talents, they have to leave the world. We were forced to leave the world and go to a different one, because of me. The world where we were forced from was named Galaxy 246. We are not the first family to get kicked out of the Galaxy 246. The world we selected to go to was Earth. What a strange name for such a beautiful planet.

I have six brothers and five sisters, three of my sisters and three brothers are younger than I am. Then the other five are two sisters, and three brothers are older than I am. My mother gave birth to two sets of triplets and two sets of twin, then she had two by themselves making me the middle child.

My Family

My mother and father first had the oldest one of us. His name is Zachary Allen Barkley. Then they had a set of triplets: two girls and a boy. The girls’ names are Wendy Marie Barkley, and Lucy Lou Barkley. The boy’s name is Melvin Michael Barkley. Next they had me. My name is Selene Ann Barkley. My parents then had a set of twins: two boys, whose names are Henry Joe Barkley and David Randle Barkley. Finally they had triplet girls. Their names are Katrina Ann Barkley, Melanie Marie Barkley, and Hannah May Barkley.

My family is very different. Like I said, our mother’s a witch, which means she has powers, and our father is a shape shifter. So they figured their children would just get one of their powers, and they were right, but not all the way right. My older sisters are witches, and my older brothers are shape shifters. My younger sisters are also shape shifters, and my younger brothers are warlocks. I, on the other hand, I am both witch and shape shifter.

Galaxy 246, where we used to live, was scared that I would bring a reckoning to them and that I was going to destroy them in the end. So my family had to leave or I would be killed. That should clear up what I mean when I say that the people that are here now on Earth are not like my family. Not all of us left though. One of my brothers stayed behind because he was not about to lose his spot in the castle.

We lived in the biggest castle. We were the most powerful creature, and no one dared to overthrow my father till they found out that I was both witch and shape shifter. Shapeshifters can change into anything they want, whether or animals, even other humans. The only thing is they have to be careful not to be seen by the other human that you shifted to look like.

My Siblings

Zachary is really musical and is the first shape shifter in the family which means he will be the leader of the pack when we all get out of school. Zachary will only be the leader of the shapeshifters. He is also 24 and he is in college, or at least that is what I think it is called. This will be the first time any of the guys in our family will have gone to college.

Lucy is book smart and has already gotten past the 10th book of our family Grimoires. There are total of 50 Grimoires on my mother's side of the family. Lucy is also the first of the witches in my family to be born, so that means she will be the leader of the Witches. Lucy is 23 and she is also in college, but she will not be the first lady in our family to go to college. Our mother had come to Earth and been to college.

Wendy is a popular person or she was when we lived on Galaxy 246. Everyone loves her. She’s just so sweet that people can’t help but love her. I think Wendy has had more boyfriends than my other sisters all put together because she always go for the bad boy, which has never worked out. Wendy is 23 as well because she’s one of the triplets.

Melvin is an athlete. He is going to be a professional basketball player if he keeps going at the rate he is. Melvin also was changing into different creatures that aren't normally seen. Melvin is almost the fastest one of the shapeshifters, although I’m way faster than he is. He beats the others though. Melvin is 23 and he’s also in college.

I’m Selene. I have long, red hair just like my mother, I don’t have as bright of blue eyes as mom, but they are still close to hers. I’m musical, athletic, and creative. My name means "moon" in Greek. Selene was the name of a Greek goddess of the moon, sometimes identified with the goddess Artemis. I am the only one of the children to have a special name. I am also the only child that looks like our mother. There’s not a lot about me, other than the fact I’m the first cross breed to ever have both powers. I am a witch and a shape shifter. I’m one of the top at witchcraft, and I’m also the fastest shapeshifter, even though I’m only 18 years old. There is a little age difference between me and my older siblings.

Henry is a Warlock. He is 15 years old and is mostly a loner. I mean he just doesn’t do much with people. He just sits at home reading his books. He studies the family Grimoires so much I think Mom is going to have to make a whole new Grimoire that is different than the others so he can keep studying. I think Henry will be going to a school for really talented creatures. I can’t remember what the school’s name is.

David is a Warlock as well. He’s not that good at remembering how to say the spells but he is amazing making potions. I think he might have a chance at going to the school with Henry because those two hardly leave each other’s sides. David is 15 as well because he’s Henry’s twin.

Katrina is a shape shifter. She is the best at football. Even though she is a girl, she is very good. Katrina plays football every time she has a chance, I think she is going to try out for the football team in middle school. Katrina is 13 years old, but she looks like she is 16. Katrina is like our father, tall and built very well.

Melanie is a shape shifter. She is the only person I know who can draw the animals that she changes into. Melanie is always changing into different animals then drawing them she draws them to look the way they feel in their own eyes. Melanie is the youngest of my sisters. I play around with her when she needs someone to shape shift into an animal for her to draw. Before she even draws the animals she will shape shift into that animal and we will go running or flying. She is only 13 and I sometimes think she my age because of how much she acts like she is 18.

Hannah is 13 and is a shape shifter. She’s so funny when it comes to shape shifting. It takes her a while but she will get the hang of changing. Hannah’s favorite thing to shape shift into is a mermaid. The last time I took her to the lake we didn’t come home until 11p.m. We had so much fun shifting into different people, animals, and creatures from where we are from.

Like I said earlier I was the reason we had to leave. Father was so careful not to let others know about me having both powers. He told me to show only one power to everyone. I was very careful with my powers but one night when I was running with Hannah as a wolf, someone saw me move through the trees and after I turned back to normal I light the fire with my fingers.

I heard someone yell “she’s the one that will ruin us all; Princess Selene has both shape shifter and witch powers!” I turned around and ran home with Hannah, I got to Dad but he was already told that I was seen. The whole world had already been told and the people were going around the castle calling out for me to be banished.

They wanted my family to either leave, or to make me leave alone. Mother was not about to let me leave alone, she told my father whither she leaves with me or we all leave. Father was not about to let mother leave without him, he got everyone and their things. My brother Melvin was not about to leave, he stayed behind when we left. Mother was so hurt that Melvin stayed behind. She was one of the few that still believed Melvin was good. I on the other hand know what he can and is not afraid of doing anything at any coast. I will tell you more about that at a later time but now I am going to talk about the new world.

The New House

This house is not as big as our castle but it is pretty close to it. Here there are rooms for everyone of my siblings, the basement is huge. In the house we have a big kitchen where we can have all of us sitting at the island and still have room to walk around. Mother loves her art studio that connects onto father’s office.

My room is so big, honestly I think it’s the biggest room, but really Zach and Hannah have the two biggest rooms. They beat me into the house and had already moved some things in their rooms. Anyways my room has a balcony and it connects with Hannah’s room.The doors that lead to the balcony show so much light through that it is so light that I really do not even need to have my lights on in my room till the sun sets. The view is so beautiful, It seems like i can see for mile, all of the trees are so beautiful too, they are just so big and full of color. Some of the trees are apple trees, some are just trees with different colors of flowers on them, and others are different type of fruit trees.

The color of my room is my absolute favorite color ever, and that is mint green! I just love mint green, it is so bright and seems to be full of life. In my room there was a big bed, tall dresser, a walk in closet, and the bathroom that was connected to mine had a big tube that had jets.

In this house we actually have a garage, not a bard, and we have cars too! These cars are so awesome, on the other world we didn’t have cars, we just said horses and buggies. I actually got to have my own vehicle and I chose a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500hd. I had looked at the other ones, but they aren’t as good as mine in my opinion but my brother Zach loves the Ford f150 color 2016. Mother decided to get a green 2015 Ford Mustang, and Father has a red one just like mother’s but it has a black stripe down the middle. All of my other siblings that can drive have small cars that I really can’t remember how old they are.

New School

First day of school! Finally I get to leave the house, I actually get to leave the house without someone following me around like they did at the castle. One thing is I am so nervous, I have never been to an actual school before. I know it will be really great to get friends that do not know anything about me and my weird family. I am definitely making sure no one ever finds out that I am not human.

I arrived just in time… well at least I think I arrived before school started. There are people still outside laughing and riding some kind of boards with wheels, I think they call them long boards or something like that. This might be a little harder than I thought it would be because I do not know what a lot of things are here, what is Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat? What is tweeting something that people that mock birds do? How do you slide into DMs if you actually can not slide into the phone in the first place? Man I am so going to stick out here because I know nothing about how to act here.

I walked through the doors of the high school, honestly I didn’t think that it was going to be so big. I thought maybe that it was going to have few people in it and look much older but I thought wrong. The high school is up to date and it is full of students all over. Some of the students seem to be dating because they are holding hands while going to class, some are hugging and some even kissed before parting ways.

This is so different than I have read in books and have been told by my mothers. Mother told me so many stories about a normal school. She had once been to a normal high school, but I do not know how or why. Mother always told me that she would explain further when we get settled in the new house.

I went to the office after it seemed like I had walked around this place for about 30 minutes. After I waited for and talked with the office lady, she handed me the schedule that had what times I went to classes. On my schedule was Math, English VI, Art, Choir, Teachers Ad., History, Study hall, and teaching as a career.

First Class

I got into my class and started to get to work. The teacher didn’t notice me and I was totally okay with that until this girl comes up to me and says “you’re in my seat.” I stood up and apologized. I went to the teacher and asked where I sit. She said oh my I did not realized that you were here today.

She got me my seat, I sat down next to this guy he has dark brown hair; it is curly and he seems to be athletic. He noticed me looking at him for a long time. He said can I help you? I said oh no I am sorry I was just wondering what your name was. He said my name is Brody, Brody Nightly. I said nice to meet you Brody Nightly, my name is Selene Barkley. I’m new to this town.

He said oh well it is nice to meet you, can I see your schedule? I handed him my schedule. He said we have 4 classes together and we have lunch together too, I can show you to your other classes. I said I would like that very much thank you.

Class got over and Brody walked me to my classes, before I knew it it was already lunch time and i was lost walking from the last class I was in. Until I ran straight into a teacher of mine Mrs. Hopkins. I said oh I'm so sorry, I was not paying attention. Mrs. Hopkins said it's okay dear I was just coming to find you. I said well looks like you found me. We both laughed and went to her classroom so we could talk some.

While in her classroom we talked about how I was liking it here and who my family was. I said my mother was Jen Barkley and Mr. Hopkins eye’s got big. She asked if my mother had lived here before we moved here. I said yes she had lived here once before. She said well I think I have met your mother before she was one of my closest friends if I am thinking of the right person. I showed her a picture on my phone of my mother and Mrs. Hopkins said well yes that is her but she is all grown up.
