A Higher Consciousness

Since time immemorial, humanity has tried to understand our place within this world, the cosmic universe, and the infinite. Existence is dependent on our understanding that there is a self, a thing within us that is aware. This is what we call consciousness. But, this consciousness transcends beyond common awareness of our physical existence and surrounding. It exists as part of the eternal, the infinite and the higher form of being.

So, what exactly is this higher consciousness? The awareness we have exists as an extension of a higher form of being, which would be known as spirit. However, it is an individual entity and thing, separate from that higher being but still an indiscriminate part of it. We are part of a higher consciousness, a form of being that is indescribable and quite ineffable, making the experience of it rather more beautiful.

We could call this higher entity anything we like, but attributing a name to it would not do the being or essence or energy true justice within the world. We all, as a race, have to accept the fundamental truths of our existence. We are an accumulation of atoms within an infinite space for the merest of moments. Attached to this blob of atoms, we have this awareness which connects us all to a higher being. This is what we are. If one were to be technical, we could consider it being spiritual. However, spirituality is a practice as opposed to an ideology with any kind of religious connotations.

What do I mean by the passing remark I just made? Well, spirituality is the concept that include compassion, love, forgiveness, understanding, acceptance, sharing and total connectivity. This is all it means to be a spiritual person. Practicing these things extends our connection and awareness not only of a higher state of being, but as fellow humans. The Dalai Lama continuously says, "We are human brothers and sisters," which displays a connection that is undeniable and displays that we should not neglect, use or abuse another human being.

Anyone can access this deeper connection to other humans and the higher form of being. As Russell Brand puts it, "Through yoga, I have access to unseen realms of power, which anyone can access." However, it isn't just through yoga you can access this, but meditation has been known to grant peace and connection to a form of higher consciousness. For example: Vipassana meditation within Buddhism displays this by seeing things as they truly are. Anyone can access these unseen realms of power, as it is innate within us, it is a part of us. One way to access these realms is through communication with spirit (of the Light).

Spirit of the Light are spirit that exist as energy, and are an aspect of God, The Great Mind, Vishnu or whatever you know it as. Now, one does not have to be religious or believe in God to know or access these realms, they simply have to be open to the idea that there is a higher form of being within every human. This could be interpreted as a soul or spirit or the essence of every living being on the earth. If one extends their mind and open up, they will have access to these realms as well as possibly having reduced stress and feeling more calm. It is good to attempt to get this connection to the higher realms of power. Through accessing these powers, we are able to grow in a spiritual and human way for our journey as spirit and humans.

Understanding these basic, fundamental truths of humanity, spirit and the world, we will gain a more peaceful world.
