The anime Tokyo Ghoul is a gruesome series. It is a sci-fi horror with no romance. The show follows a boy and his new found struggle. A human turned into a half ghoul after an accident. He struggles to be more of who he used to be instead of who he is becoming. He then makes new friends who help him with his struggle while trying to keep his childhood friend from finding out. But he then falls to the bad side and is part a ghoul gag. Where he is then accepted who he is really. Only to then turn himself into the ghoul police.

Ken Kaneki is the main character. He asked a really pretty girl out on a date. The one problem was that his date was actually a ghoul. The ghouls name was Rize and she planned on killing him for food. Kaneki did not know this and fell right into her trap. When he figured out that she was a ghoul it was to late for him. He tried to run away causing an accident to happen where the doctors took Rize’s organs and put them into Kaneki. When they did this though they turned him into a half human half ghoul.

Kaneki takes the help of Anteiku. Anteiku is a small coffee shop run by ghouls. The reason it is a coffee shop is ghouls can drink coffee. Usually ghouls can not eat anything a human can. Coffee is the only thing out of all the things humans can drink that they can drink to. The shop was found by a ghoul and was his way of giving other ghouls to live and work a normal life. Yoshimaru, the creator of Anteiku, wanted to help ghouls in need so he has Kaneki come work for him and learn how to survive as a ghoul.

Through the series you meet some characters that you will learn to love or hate. Touka is one of these characters. She helps Kaneki by protecting him from a different ghoul who was about to kill him. Touka also is part of Anteiku and helps him fit in. Juuzou is another strange character. He is part of the police for ghouls. They are also known as the C.C.G.. He seems like he would need to be in a mental hospital due to him acting like a psychopath. He acts like this because he was tortured by ghouls as he grew up, causing him to act the way he does.

Tokyo Ghoul is a big hit. They started as a manga and then went to an anime. It was a big hit. So they then came out with a drama. The anime has two seasons with a third coming out in April of 2018. The ending of season two left viewers wanting to know what was happening. They have finally posted the release date. If you read the manga, it ends with him turning himself in and becoming part of the C.C.G.

Tokyo Ghoul has made it into my top favorites. This was a thrilling show with a small amount of romance but it really was not a lot. I loved the horror of every episode. In some parts of the show I actually cried due to things I really do not want to spoil for any of you who want to watch this great series. I would recommend this to anyone who loves mythical creatures who want to eat human flesh. This is a great sci-fi horror show and should be added to your watch wish list.
