Aura Cleansing Bath

Spiritual Bath for the City Dweller

Relaxing Spiritual Bath

I am the self-proclaimed poster child for spiritual baths, and I am definitely here to push you city folk into taking one. I reside in the big ol' apple, New York City, home of the fearless pigeons, crocodiles in the sewer system, and the unmistakable gritty, grimy, New York City State of Mind. Seriously though, there are so many reasons to love this place, and it surely has my heart, BUT I am a highly sensitive, clairvoyant, intuitive empath. So, the reasons why I love NYC, are some of the same reasons why I (and maybe you) need to take SEVERAL spiritual baths a week.

Let’s talk auras on a basic level really quick, so we're all on the same page. An aura, as explained by dictionary.com, is:

"The distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to be surrounded and be generated by a person, place, or thing."

In laymen's terms an aura is the energetic mirror of our physical body that can hold colors, our emotions, and intentions. A healthy sized aura extends about an arm’s length circumference around your body. Auras are energy that enclose the body, and can shrink or extend themselves depending on the situation. For example, being in a state of fear can cause your aura to contract, and be very close to the body, while the aura of someone who is controlling or overbearing will usually have an overextended aura. Unbalanced and unchecked auras will have you spread yourself too thin, and block the energy flow of your body. Most humans are more sensitive to the aura than most might even imagine. All those times when you’ve met a person who you just didn't like or "vibe" with, is because there was something within their aura that wasn't 'vibing' with yours. I think we have generally covered the basic idea of what an aura is, if you still need some clarity, just google it and read up.

So, traveling on public transit, interacting with co-workers, friends, cashiers, roommates, etc. that regular day to day interactivity can really funk up your aura. I mean think about it, you’re on the train during rush hour, and now you have several people within your aura because the train is crowded. Or something like Laura from HR, who you see every morning, is going through a divorce, you check-in on her and give her a hug with a few encouraging words. It’s the norm for us, but ultimately who knows what kind of day these people have had, or what kind of mindset they're in, and each interaction has left a mark on your aura. Really it is an exchange of energy, and most times it is not an even exchange. Sometimes you're left with more than you came with, and then there are times where you leave with less, or you're totally drained of all your energy. We do this unknowingly day in and day out. So how, you ask, are you to know when you need to cleanse your aura? Why, I have a short list here for your convenience my friend.

Signs you’re in need of a spiritual bath:

  • If you find yourself with anxiety, you're easily angered, stressed, or irritable especially with no real source or cause.
  • You find yourself uncharacteristically exhausted, fatigued, or overwhelmed.
  • More headaches than usual, or small pains in the body that have unknown sources.
  • Trouble sleeping or nightmares.
  • You recently went through some emotional turmoil, like a breakup or death.
  • Feeling off, or maybe like your being cosmically targeted for bad luck.

These aren't the only signs, but they are the most common. Anytime you find your mind in any of these spaces, you’re going to need to honestly check in with yourself, and see what you need. Even if you’re unsure, take a spiritual bath anyway; it can't hurt. Now, to the crown jewels, how to take a spiritual bath! Before we get to business, I really do think it is important to say that this is how I do my spiritual baths. This is what works for me, and over time you should add on to this, or develop your own spiritual bath aura cleanse routine.

Spiritual Bath Steps:

Step 1 - Clean Bathtub

The cleanliness of your tub means something here, you want to start from a fresh clean slate.

Step 2 - Pre-Shower

You’re going to be sitting in a tub for a few minutes, so it’s best to wash off the physical dirt before you soak your spiritual dirt off. It’s also ideal to wipe the shower down after this step if you can.

Step 3 - Bath Time

Run water as hot as you can stand it. Add ingredients, then soak.

Step 4 - Clean Bathtub

This makes sure that energy you washed off, stays off. If you don't clean the tub before its next use, you run the risk of yourself or another person picking up those nasty vibes you worked so hard to wash away.

After cleansing your aura, I would recommend doing something lighthearted and easy going, nothing too emotional or stressful. Eating light fresh foods would be great, and be mindful not to eat foods that are too heavy. Being alone for a while would be solid, as well as some time for meditation or yoga. Sleeping would be the best activity after a spiritual bath.

Go take your much-needed spiritual bath! If you're looking for other bath soaks or salts, click on website link in the bio. Enjoy!

Basic Spiritual Bath Recipe

  • 1/4 c. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 c. Sea Salt or Epsom salt
  • 1 Bunch of Fresh Basil (If using dried herbs, boil first then add herbs and water to bath).

Add all ingredients to hot bath. While in bath speak aloud your prayers / affirmation, or about the energy you want to remove / energies you want to call into your life. Now relax and sit in bath for about 33 mins, or as long as you can stand it. Air dry as much as possible and relax!

**Optional add on

Florida water, apple cider vinegar, holy water, essential oils, flowers/herbs, candles or relaxing music.

(Baking Soda is an alkaline, it's detoxifying, and awesome for removing blockages from the aura, best when used for exhausting people and situations.

Salt is best for protection, purifying, detoxifying, and drawing impurities out of the body.

Basil is great for purification, luck, and banishing negative energy).
