The Haunted Bridge
The Silver Jubilee Bridge that connects Runcorn and Widnes, is a British landmark within Cheshire. It has a green ark that can be visible as far as Liverpool (although only on a very clear, sunny day). It is a famous piece of architecture that is instantly recognisable. What many of you may not be aware of however, is that this bridge has been known to be haunted. Just stop and think about the amount of automobile accidents that have happened on this bridge, and the ghosts that now linger there after these terrible accidents.

The Saints Row Boss Died!
This is a what if scenario story, a game theory that I thought was pretty fun to explore. Towards the end of Saints Row (2022) our player character (The Boss), is betrayed by Nahualli, they are shot in the stomach and buried within your own church yard. The ending you know has The Boss rise from the grave, unhurt from the bullet wound and eventually saves his (or her) friends from the bad guy. A happy ending, right? Well, what if The Boss never actually returned to life, but was simply fantasising about getting their revenge and saving the day. When in reality, they were simply dreaming this all up before finally resting in peace and dying in a swallow grave. The board game sequence supports this theory, as The Boss finds themselves within a life sized version of the game they used to play with Eli, Kevin and Neenah. Passed this; we find ourselves walking through The Boss' memories from throughout the game, as we relive key moments and dramatic scenes all over again. The vital piece to this puzzle however, is when The Boss reaches the end of this dream/nightmare sequence, they are presented with a door that opens to a blind light of white energy. Could this be a metaphor for heaven? That The Boss has actually passed on to the afterlife and everything from this point onward, the rescue mission, the final confrontation, is nothing but a fantasy before their untimely death. Another thing to note, is that Zombies are actually part of the Saints Row universe. Even in the first two games (the most realistic) it was possible to get Jin Li and Carlos as zombie companions, that can help you out when in combat with police or other gangs. In Saints Row: The Third, there is a zombie outbreak that the Saints must cure, as part of the main storyline (zombie Johnny Gat is also available as a companion too). With all that in mind, maybe the boss of Saints Row Reboot really did return from the grave, but what we saw was their fantasy. In reality, they may have come back as a blood thirsty Zombie, their last dying thoughts of the happy go lucky ending we saw at the game's finale. Somewhere locked away in that shambling husk, The Boss still lives on, living a fantasy life where the new saints went on to take over Santo Illeso. Where in reality, perhaps you actually ate your old friends and the entire Saints Row gang, including that traitor, Nahualli.

The Seeing
This is a fictional horror story about a man who can see the ghosts of the old world, it's people and buildings that have long gone and demolished. He writes a story about his unusual gift, that he calls The Seeing. Although this story is made up, I sometimes see things that are no longer there, usually due to over tiredness or by misremembering the present, forgetting certain buildings or forests are no longer with us. It is these occurrences that have inspired this story, you are about to read.

Ghost Cars
What lurks in the darkest roads, where nobody else is around? This is a story which explores the urban legend of the mysterious ghost cars, that often appear out of nowhere when driving down lonesome country roads, motorways or expressways at the later hours of night, or early hours of dawn, when the sun comes down, or before it truly rises. The most common times when these ghost cars appear, are reported to be from 3-4am, otherwise known as The Witching Hour.

Witch Hunt
This is a frightening tale of Witches and angry mobs! Many centuries ago, when men were far more superstitious of the occult and its many dark secrets; a lot of people were petrified of female spell casters, otherwise known as Witches. The myths spread far and wide across England and America, tales of old hags with pointy hats, abducting children, casting despicable curses and flying on broomsticks. Oh, it may seem so silly and laughable now, but back then; it was very much a serious threat! However, whether or not you believe in the occult, there is a very real tragedy behind these true tales. That is, of the wrongly accused! Those innocent poor women who were hunted down and tortured or killed, because many believed them to be devil worshippers or Witches themselves. The following is a tale, although fictional, is entirely based around these dreadful events. That of a Witch Hunt within the American town of Salem, Massachusetts, during the year of 1692.

UFOs of Runcorn
Although Runcorn is known for UFO sightings, the following is a fictional story, that is inspired by true events. Runcorn is a small town towards the north west of England, within the county of Cheshire. There have been several TV shows and movies set here and a few books too. A small number of celebrities, such as singers, actors, authors and comedians have also began in this little cosy town. However, there is one thing Runcorn is not so proud of; that is of it's many bizarre and downright frightening alien abduction stories and sightings. I have already written about this town in previous entries, but those stories were of supernatural hauntings (something that Runcorn is also famously known for). However, as terrifying as those ghost stories may be, the tales of extra terrestrials are somehow far more horrific and fascinating. Many curious cats have purposely reached out to these UFOs, seeking proof for the sake of fame (or possibly fortune) only for them to witness true horror, so traumatising it has left many hospitalised or disturbed beyond repair. There is a crazy old man who screams; "the aliens are coming, 2047, that's when they'll strike!". This local lunatic also claimed the aliens would destroy us all in the year 2012 and 2000 before that. So, many brush the man off as simply insane. He is a frightening individual however, always walking within the old town between the hours of 3-4am. Many call 3am the witching hour, so perhaps this also links into the occult. Many who have seen him, say his eyes shine a fiery yellow, that his teeth are also sharp, like those of a Vampire. Is he possessed? Maybe. I was going to interview him, but after so much as hearing his deep, demonic, echoed voice, screaming in the darkest alleyways at night; I couldn't dare myself to greet him. It is believed he was abducted by aliens in 1999, when taking a lonely walk around Runcorn Hill, one sunny afternoon. Locals claim this man was perfectly normal before that walk. Alongside Runcorn Hill, UFO sightings have been spotted around the areas of Palace Fields, Castle Fields and Weston, in places that are less built up and more open. It is impossible to precise how many people in Runcorn have actually been abducted by UFOs, however, rumours still lurk around the darkest corners of this town. Some say the aliens resemble the ugliest insects you can imagine, black and grey creatures with spidery limbs and multiple eyes of muddy colours. That they insert drills into peoples heads, so that they can control them (like the mad man who stalks Runcorn Old Town). The popular rumours of alien probing are also believed here, alongside human dissection, as some have claimed to see the dead bodies of men and women, strung up on the UFO's walls like trophies. Religious theorists believe these aliens to be overseers, watching us all like Gods from the sky. The golden beams these UFOs emit, they could be mistaken for Heavenly skies, shining down upon us. I've always looked at the night sky, sometimes I see an airplane, but it doesn't look quite right, with it's green lights and spherical shapes. I tell myself I'm being imaginative, that it's hard to make out the plane from so far away, so it only looks strange from my point of view. However, after hearing all these strange stories, I can't help but feel like my instincts were right. Perhaps we really are being watched from above, by forces we cannot even comprehend. One thing I can advise, it would be wise not to go walking around this remote town past night time, especially not on your own. You may encounter the crazed Vampire of Runcorn Old Town, or become abducted by the monsters that created him.

Spider's Nest
A Fictional horror story about spiders! Within the country of Australia, there are huge arachnids known as the giant Huntsman Spiders. They can grow up to a length of 60 center meters wide and are a terrifying sight, running a speeds that will sure send a cold chill up your spine. Although their bites are not fatal, they still have venomous stingers, that can cause severe nausea and swelling. Although they will only attacked when provoked, precise to say, you wouldn't dare confront such monstrosities. However, a screaming, terrified child may not know any better, accidentally enticing it to strike! Most people are wise enough to simply ignore these over sized pests, but what happens if you stumble down a dark path that leads you straight into a nest full of terrified spiders. They may just see you as a threat, deciding to swarm you in pure self defence. That is exactly what happened to poor Jamie Harrison.

The Runcorn Headless Horseman
As a resident of Runcorn, Cheshire; I, Joseph Roy Wright, have heard many dark rumors about my remote home town. There are many myths and legends hiding within this unsuspecting town. I have already written about the haunted house in Bryon Street, yet there is another horror far greater, that you must know of. That is The Headless Horseman of Stockham Lane. Now the legend of this mysterious knight may sound familiar to you, but be-headings in medieval England, especially during battles, were incredibly common. Runcorn has it's history of knighthood, there is even an ancient castle that still stands to this very day. Some residents of Runcorn have seen strange sightings at this so called Halton Castle, past the time of midnight and especially around the season of Halloween. It is here where people have seen ghostly knights or other medieval warriors, along with un-explainable shouts and unseen battles, booming from behind the castle walls. Like these long forgotten wars are still going on. Echoes of medieval times still haunt this castle deeply, it is from this myth that many believe the headless horseman comes from. As the headless knight has been spotted atop the castle's roofs, staring down upon the living, before vanishing at dawn.
