Out with the Old, in with the New

On Wednesday, November 7, at 11:01 AM EST, we will have another New Moon. This time, in the sign intense and intuitive sign of Scorpio. This New Moon coincides with so many other important aspects, that I don't even know where to begin! This New Moon will definitely be one to remember.

New Moons are a time for fresh starts and new beginnings. If you were looking to make a radical change in your life, or even just a tiny change, now is the time, as New Moons represent the beginning of the lunar cycle when the Moon is conjunct the Sun and invisible to the human eye.

And Scorpio, is all about change. Transformation. A fixed, water sign ruled by the planets Mars and Pluto, Scorpio is easily the most passionate and intense sign of the zodiac. Driven by the will to power, and an all consuming desire that makes them approach all issues as if they were a matter of life or death, Scorpio is capable of great evils, but with a little bit of self-control and an intuition and emotional depth unknown to any other sign, Scorpio is also capable of great good. Scorpio is all about extremes. It can be hot or it can be cold but it will never be lukewarm. It's up to us to choose which side we are on: we can choose to stay the same and be stuck in our un-evolved 3D ways or we can choose to change, evolve into something better.

With the Sun and the Moon making a close trine to the planet Neptune, this New Moon is a highly spiritual one, helping us to transform for the better. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, this aspect will help us to access the higher octave of Scorpio. It will give us a sense of oneness with the universe and give us the divine inspiration and guidance needed to transform into the best possible versions of ourselves. Meanwhile, the sextile to Pluto will help us cleanse out the parts of ourselves that are holding us back and keeping us in the dark. Overall, this New Moon in Scorpio will give us an acute perceptiveness that will help us to discern which part of ourselves we need to strengthen to move forward and which parts of ourselves we need to leave behind.

The New Moon is also accompanied by a trine between the cosmic lovers, Venus and Mars, which will go exact at November 9th. Venus, still retrograde in Libra, trine Mars in Aquarius, two air signs, will strengthen communication in intimate relationships & help us reconcile and sort out any miscommunications with partners & loved ones. Overall, this trine gives the New Moon a special emphasis on interpersonal relationships.

Anything we failed to let go of during the October 24th, Moon in Taurus, we will have a second chance to release now.

Any positive changes we make now will come into fruition on November 23rd, when the Full Moon will be in Gemini.

Meanwhile, the Nodes change signs.

What makes this New Moon so important is that the Moon's Nodes will be changing signs on the very same day!!!

The North and South Node are not planets but mathematical points, representing our karma & destiny. They are associated with reincarnation and past lives but you don't necessarily have to believe in past lives (personally, I do) in order to see their effect. The South Node represents your karma, things you're familiar with, where you're coming from and what you need to let go of. The North Node represents your destiny, things you're unfamiliar (and possibly uncomfortable) with, where you are going and what you need to grow. How perfect that this change should be happening on the same day as the New Moon in Scorpio, sign of transformation! Overall, the North and South Nodes are very spiritual points representing your life's purpose.

After over a year in the signs of Leo and Aquarius, they will be entering the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. Over the past year or so, we've learned the lesson of being our authentic selves & living from our hearts desire (Leo) instead of simply following what we think the crowd wants (Aquarius). With the North Node in the Moon-ruled water sign of Cancer & the South Node in the Saturn-ruled earth sign of Capricorn, we'll be continuing to learn a similar lesson.

Capricorn (the goat) represents personal ambition, our careers, our professional life and our social status. It also represents order, structure, authority & hierarchy. Just as the goat climbs the mountain, Capricorns know how to climb up to the top of the social ladder. Cancer (the crab), however, is more about the home, family, our roots + traditions, our emotions, our pasts and all things domestic. If Capricorn represents the public sphere, Cancer is the private sphere. If Capricorn represents all things masculine and paternal, Cancer represents the feminine and the maternal. The Sun enters Capricorn at the winter solstice and is characterized as "cold," and unfeeling. The Sun enters Cancer at the summer solstice and is characterized as "warm," and caring.

This transit is asking us to take a step back from our professional lives to care for & nurture ourselves. All too often, we sacrifice our health and happiness. to make a living, but what's the point of sacrificing our health and happiness to make a living when we don't even want to live? This transit will teach us about what's truly important. Fame, riches, wealth & prestige mean little in comparison to our homes, our families, our emotional security, what comforts us and what makes us feel safe.

I think this transit will also help us put an end to patriarchy and the disproportionate value we place on all things masculine. This year, we will truly see the Divine Feminine come into her power. We will no longer accept a system that places profits over people.

Jupiter enters Sagittarius.

Meanwhile, only a day after the New Moon, Jupiter will enter it's home sign of Sagittarius. Jupiter, the great benefit, is the natural ruler of this mutable, fire sign meaning that the positive qualities of Jupiter will be strengthened during this period which will last 13 months. Jupiter in Sagittarius will bring us good luck in matters related to spirituality, philosophy, religion, travel, education, law, and global relations. While Jupiter in Scorpio was all about facing our shadow, Jupiter in Sagittarius is all about facing the light at the end of the tunnel.

At the time of the New Moon, Jupiter will be at 29 degrees Scorpio, giving us our last chance to wrap up any lessons this transit might have come to teach us.
