Being a Medium

My Story and Experiences

So what is a medium, you may ask. A medium is a person who can talk to the dead and spirits. Mediums can also sense when there is a presence near them. Medium and psychic aren't the same. A psychic isn't necessarily a medium, but a medium is always a psychic. This is an important distinction. Psychics tune into the energy of people or even objects by feeling or sensing elements of their past, present, and future. To put it simply, psychics rely on their basic sense of intuition and their psychic ability to gather information from the person being read. However, mediums are different. They take it a step further. A medium uses her or his intuitive and psychic abilities to see into the past, present and future events of a person by tuning into the spirit energy that is around that person. In short, this means, they rely on the presence of not physical energy, but spiritual energy outside of themselves for the information that is relevant from the the person who is being read.

So I am a medium. Or at least I think. And I'll tell you why.

I remember about a week ago, I had a dream. But I didn't see anything. I felt something and heard something. What I felt was, tingles all over my body, really hot, and felt myself being lifted out of my bed. I heard whispers surrounding me. I was startled awake by this "dream." The next day, I asked another person that is Wiccan what it meant. She said what I felt was an out-of-body experience. And what I heard was possibly the voices of the dead. Then I asked a second person what it meant. She said what I felt was called astral traveling but I was returning to my body. At the time, I didn't know what astral traveling was, so I asked. She said that astral traveling is when my spirit leaves my body, and that it usually occurs when I am dreaming. She didn't say anything about the whispering. So I asked what she thought it meant. She said it is quite possible that I am a medium, but I have to exercise being a medium so my powers become more powerful. Now, since I have known the second person longer, I am going with her opinion. So yes, I think I am a medium.

Another reason I think that I am a medium is because I feel things that other people don't feel. I feel energies. So when I am alone, sometimes I feel another energy in my presence. I could never quite grasp the reason why I felt things like that. But now that I know I could possibly be a medium, it makes perfect sense now. I would also see things. Like a little mist or something in my room. That, I didn't tell anyone about. I plan on keeping it to myself until I feel that the time is right.

I have been diving into my spirituality a lot recently. I have been doing research. I have also been meditating, searching for more answers. So far, nothing has come to me. The only thing that is notable from a recent meditation is, I saw a young woman in a long, white dress, picking an apple from a tree. I meditate with my eyes closed, so I asked myself, "If I meditate with my eyes closed, how could I see such a thing?" And then I had the thought, "What if that's me in the future?" I thought that because I have accurately seen events in the future without any knowledge of what is actually going to happen. It comes to me mostly in dreams or nightmares, and sometimes when I meditate.

Not only can I see into the future, I can also see into the past. I remember I meditated with my hand on a scar on my boyfriend's (but now ex-boyfriend's) arm. The vision that came to me, is that he used to self-harm. He thought it wasn't true. Then he remembered himself, that he has self-harmed in the past. I am still working on seeing into the past and future, because I cannot do it on command yet.

As I get more and more involved with my religion, the more it interests me. I have always had an interest in the supernatural. I have always believed in it. However, when I turned 14, I had started to question my faith at the time, which was Catholicism, but I always believed in a higher power. I just didn't know what it was. Well now I know. I believe in the God and Goddess of Wicca. They are two separate beings, but they are not "out there somewhere." I believe that their God and Goddess Resides in each and every one of us, and within the Earth itself.

Say what you will about Wiccans being involved with the devil. We do not believe there is such a thing. We simply worship the Earth.
