Coincidence? I dare say no. I’m here to tell you there will be some bleeding over from War of the Bounty Hunters to The Book of Boba Fett, but not in the way you might think.

The Star Wars Expanded Universe has been a staple of the fandom for decades, going back really to the first Star Wars Novel Splinter of the Mind’s Eye which was the unofficial continuation of the saga back when George himself wasn’t even sure if he was going to make a sequel or not. From 1991 - 2012 the post Endor books and comics were considered by many fans to be the true continuation of the Saga. That was until 2012 and the Disney buyout when they decided to more or less reboot the Expanded Universe with the exception of the Six films and the Clone Wars series. However what many people may not have expected is that by going under the monogram of Star Wars legends, that might have saved the Expanded Universe in ways many people have yet to fully appreciate.

In The Mandalorian Season 2 episode, The Tragedy, Din Djarin brought Grogu to the planet Tython, so that the Force-sensitive child could make contact with other Jedi. Beside from The Mandalorian, in current Star Wars cannon, the planet was only featured in the Doctor Aphra comic series, where the rogue archeologist took Darth Vader there in an effort to mislead the Empire from discovering the Rebel base on Hoth. Tython played a more prominent role in the old Expanded Universe, now Legends, where it first appeared in Drew Karpyshyn’s novel Darth Bane: Rule of Two, the events of which take place around 1,000 years prior to those of the movies.

With Book of Boba Fett slated to premiere this December, this special is clearly meant to whet the appetite of Star Wars fans for the show.

Together for five years fans watched as Anakin and Ashoka had many adventures together, battling the Sepratist, Sith, and others during the Clone Wars. In 2020 it was announced that Ashoka was going to get her own live action show featuring Rosario Dawson. It was a major piece of news that a Star Wars animated character would make the way to live action and get her own spin-off series as well. However many speculated, will Ashoka meet her now deceased answer? Now it seems that we may have that answer.
