Is It Time For A Change Of Companion? What About A Male Companion?
Has Clara's time as Doctor Who's companion come to an end?
Is it time for a new companion? Has Clara's time come to an end? Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) official Series began in March 2013 in 'The Bells of Saint John' in Series 7. Since then Clara has seen Cybermen, Daleks, The Great Intelligence, Clockwork robots and so on. Has she seen enough now?
In August it was rumoured that she was bowing out of the show in the Christmas Special 2014. Now she has had a 'change of heart' and is staying for at least half of Series 9. on 25/12/14 it will be her 3rd Christmas Special in a row! She has been in :
- The Snowmen
- The Time of the Doctor
- Last Christmas (Coming Christmas 2014)
She has also featured in the 50th Anniversary Special ' The Day of the Doctor'. The she was with The War Doctor (John Hurt), The 10th Doctor (David Tennant) and The 11th Doctor (Matt Smith). She is now the companion of The 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi). Is that enough?
Many viewers really like Clara and don't want her to go. Whereas others will hate her and will want her to go!
In my opinion I really like Clara and don't want her to go. But The Impossible Girl's time is coming to an end.
How about a Male Companion? Is it time we saw a character like Captain Jack or Jamie return to the TARDIS. In all of New Who the Doctor has had a lot of female companions. What about a fighter like Mickey Smith. Maybe it is time for a change of gender.
