Let me just start by saying that I'm over the moon we even got a Lost in Space Season One. The original Lost in Space series, which ran from 1965-1968, was some seriously OG sci-fi. In fact, it was the original rival to Star Trek. And even though the narrative has had multiple remakes and reboots since, Netflix's release of a reboot on the 50th year since the original show's cancellation made a lot of sci-fi fans very very happy. And let's be real, any Lost in Space is good Lost in Space, if you ask me.

Now, bear in mind that Lost in Space Season One was only just released. And it has some fairly mixed reviews. Yet in an interview with Indiewire, co-creators Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have claimed they have already worked on what they suggest will be a very exciting Season Two.

“We are working on scripts and hoping that if we get a green light we’re ready to go. We’ve had a lot of thoughts about it, and hopefully, if everyone watches it, we’ll get to see more adventures of the Robinsons, because we do have some crazy stuff planned out that we really hope we get to film.”

By green light, the creators are referring to Netflix's funding and approval. This largely depends on the streaming numbers of Season One, and whether subscribers increased at the announcement of the reboot. These statistics have not been revealed publicly.

However - and I promise I'm not giving too much away - Season One did end on one hell of a cliffhanger. I think Netflix should bank on the fact that those who binged (or watched slowly, we don't judge) Season One would definitely also watch Season Two. I mean, that is one tasty cliffhanger.

Plus, as I said, any Lost in Space is good Lost in Space.

Interestingly, the creators went on to explain why they believed the Lost in Space concept is actually better suited to television than film. They claim it is “an idea that’s supposed to go on for forever.” Maybe that's why the 1998 film wasn't exactly great. BUT ANY LOST IN SPACE IS GOOD LOST IN SPACE.

I think and hope we will get a Season Two. Yet whether we do seems entirely out of hands. It all rests on whether people enjoyed Season One.

So, have you seen the first season Netflix reboot? Did you enjoy it? Let us know!
