NASA's Dark Origins

When we think of NASA, we usually think of things like spaceships, astronauts, and Tang. However, the founders of NASA were less like the nerdy scientists you are used to seeing and more like juvenile delinquents. You may be surprised to find out that the founders of NASA were actually involved in things like wild sex parties, occultism, and public indecency?

Wernher Von Braun

Wernher Von Braun, the inventor of the Saturn V rocket used in the Apollo 11 mission, was a German scientist who came to the United States under a government program known as “Project Paperclip.” Besides being a literal rocket scientist, Braun was also a member of the Nazi SS, an elite corp of political soldiers that were responsible for the deaths of thousands of concentration camp prisoners.

It is estimated that around 2,754 civilians, in London alone, were killed by the V-2 ballistic rockets. While this number is high, this number could have been much higher, had the Nazi’s been better shots. It is a little known fact that Hitler coined the phrase, “kann die Breitseite einer Scheune nicht treffen" (Can't hit the broadside of a barn).

Lyndon B. Johnson

As a senator, Lyndon B. Johnson was involved in the creation and establishment of a Senate Special Committee on Space and Aeronautics. Senator Johnson, as the chairman of this committee, set out to establish a national space agency. Johnson went on the be Vice President and later, the 36th President of the United States.

While it is difficult to believe that a man with the middle name, “Baines” would be some kind of deviant; Lyndon B. Johnson, whose rap name was, “Lil’ B-J,” was quite proud of his manhood; so much so, that he demanded that the Presidential shower have one shower head aimed directly at the “Presidential Nozzle,” if you know what I mean.

Johnson was so taken by this particular part of his body, that he nicknamed it “Jumbo” (overcompensate much?) Johnson once answered a reporter’s question about why the U.S. was in Vietnam by unzipping his pants and taking “Jumbo” out and saying, “This is why!” (NY Times) While there is no formal record of what exactly “Jumbo” said regarding Vietnam, I’m sure it had a better foreign policy than Nixon.

L. Ron Hubbard

Lafayette Ronald Hubbard, better known as L. Ron Hubbard, was an American author, creator of Dianetics, and founder of the Church of Scientology. Before he created the church that inspired Tom Cruise to jump up and down on living room furniture, Hubbard was involved in the religion of Thelema, which is an occultic religion founded by Aleister Crowley. Crowley, once called the “wickedest man in the world,” by the English media, created this religion based on sex magick and a “do what thou wilt” philosophy.

Hubbard temporarily lived in the home of Jack Parsons, founder of Jet Propulsion Laboratories, but more about him later. While living there, Hubbard and Parsons performed a series of Magick, specifically sex magick, to summon an elemental spirit, known as “Babalon.”

Parsons wrote to Aleister Crowley regarding Hubbard, saying, “I deduced that he is in direct touch with some higher intelligence. He is the most Thelemic person I have ever met and is in complete accord with our own principles.” However, Crowley did not trust Hubbard and believed he was a fraud. Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Crowley did not trust L. Ron Hubbard! What kind of a low-life, S.O.B., do you have to be when the “wickedest man in the world” is judging YOU?

Jack Parsons

The final stop on this freak train is a man by the name of Jack Parsons. Parsons was all kinds of crazy, but first let's highlight his good qualities. Besides looking like a Robert Downey Jr. character, Parsons invented the solid JATO fuel used in rocket engines and was the founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratories.

Jack Parsons was also involved in Thelema, the occultic religion founded by Aleister Crowley. In 1939, Parsons and his wife Helen joined the free-masonic/Thelemic group Ordo Templi Orientis, referred to as O.T.O. The O.T.O. followed the principles of free love, debauchery, and “Sex Magick.”

Parsons quickly rose through the ranks of the O.T.O. and eventually started a commune at his home in Pasadena, California. Wild parties, naked pregnant women, and illegal drug use were prevalent at the commune, which Parsons nicknamed, “The Parsonage.” When he wasn’t partying at the “Parsonage,” he was worshiping at the launchpad. Prior to launching his test rockets, Parsons was witnessed dancing and chanting Crowley’s, “Hymn to Pan” No word on whether he passed around an offering plate afterwards.

An explosion took the life of Parsons in 1952. The circumstances surrounding the explosion are not known. Conspiracy theories ranging from assassination to a magick experiment going wrong have been offered as possible explanation for the explosion.

Shortly after his death, police investigators discovered a film at the Parsons residence, which showed Jack Parsons and his mother Ruth having sex. As a result, the academic community was quick to dismiss the mother-lover and his works and distanced themselves from him.

Conclusion

Esmeralda Santiago once said, "Tell me who you walk with, I'll tell you who you are." Based on who was involved in NASA's creation, one has to wonder who or what NASA really is. If you are the company you keep, then NASA is an profane, occultic organization. That being said, what are the real motivations of NASA? Is it really all about rocketry and exploration or is there something more sinister going on behind the scenes?
