Star Wars is a science fiction franchise set in a universe far far away.
Rosario Dawson 'Can’t Be Trusted' With 'Star Wars' Secrets
There are many actors in Hollywood that will carry trade secrets to their graves, Rosario Dawson is not one of them. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she recollected posting a rumor she had read in a trade publication about the new Ahsoka series coming to Disney+ next year. The rumor was that Hayden Christensen would reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker. The post on Instagram was a snapshot of a trade publication headline and Dawson's caption simply read, "Skyguy...They Know!!! See you soon, Snips."

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series is just around the corner and we cannot wait to see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as our favorite Jedi from the prequels. Fans of the franchise have been finding it difficult to curb their enthusiasm since the trailer for the miniseries dropped on Star Wars day, May the fourth. On May 11th, the official Twitter account of the series released images of five lightsabers that belong to important characters in the series, which can all be unlocked by followers by liking the tweet. The lightsabers that were revealed belong to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Reva (also known as the Third Sister), Fifth Brother, and the Grand Inquisitor.

"This is where the fun begins." These are the legendary words of Anakin Skywalker as he flew in to rescue then-Chancellor Palpatine alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi in the opening scene of Revenge of the Sith. I would say the line is also very appropriate in regards to Obi-Wan Kenobi, the upcoming six-episode miniseries premiering on Disney+ on May 27. Headed by Deborah Chow, whose previous works include directing two episodes of The Mandalorian, the series will follow the titular Jedi as he temporarily leaves Tatooine to presumably lead the Inquisitors away from discovering the young Luke Skywalker on the desert planet. As he is pursued by the Inquisitors, Obi-Wan will go on a journey that will lead to another confrontation with his fallen apprentice, Darth Vader. While Ewan McGregor's return to the role of Obi-Wan is undoubtedly the biggest draw for the series, another major selling point for many, myself included, is the return of Hayden Christensen to the role of Anakin Skywalker.

Star Wars would be nothing without Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Jedi Master trained both Anakin and Luke Skywalker. He played an essential part in both of their lives and is an important character in the bigger picture of Star Wars as well. Most recently, he's been portrayed by Ewan McGregor in the prequel films, which at the time got less than stellar reviews. This was so discouraging that Ewan McGregor even rethought his role as the beloved Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Star Wars universe is continuing to expand, or at the very least within the growing era of post-Return of the Jedi content. It now seems there is a new addition to this ever-growing era of Star Wars content. Jon Watts, known for directing the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man trilogy, is said to be developing a story codenamed Grammar Rodeo, set in the time period after Return of the Jedi. The rumored series appears to be about a bunch of young individuals going on an adventure. The question in all Star Wars fans’ minds is what sort of adventure will these kids be going on? Well, if one were to put together the pieces of the rumors as well as look at the time frame, there is one logical conclusion: Luke’s Jedi Academy.

Master Yoda has always been a popular character in Star Wars. He trained many Jedi in his life and died at the age of 900. Not much is known about his species, and only one other kind of his appeared very briefly in The Phantom Menace, Jedi Master Yaddle. This was until The Mandalorian came along and introduced beloved Grogu or "Baby Yoda" or "The Child." However, Grogu almost did not exist if it was not for Jon Favreau and Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).

Before The Mandalorian became what it is today, Kathleen Kennedy had a meeting with Jon Favreau. At the time, he was riding the success of his adaptation of The Lion King and The Jungle Book. Kennedy realized that they needed a filmmaker with spectacular vision and talent, as well as someone who would be willing to commit themselves to the Star Wars universe. The director had helmed Iron man nearly a decade prior and understood serialized storytelling. He seemed like a natural fit for the job of taking Star Wars to television.
Culture SlatePublished 2 years ago in FuturismNew Details Revealed About 'Star Wars: Andor' A Refugee Story
It was three years ago, mid-2019, when the idea for the Andor project was mentioned to the Rogue One star, Diego Luna. Diego Luna remembers being called about the idea while riding in the back seat of a car stuck in traffic on the top level of the double-decker highway in Mexico City. Diego Luna remembers that day clearly. In a Vanity Fair interview, Luna stated, “I was speaking in code words because I was trying not to say too much in the car.” He didn’t want the driver of the car to know what his conversation was about. He even remembers pressing his phone firmly against his ear. The voice on the other end of the phone was Tony Gilroy, who was informing Diego Luna of the plan for the Andor story.

To most casual viewers of the Star Wars movies, R2-D2 is just the cute little droid, a mascot of the saga, and a toy salesman's dream. However, under the dome of that little astromech lies an entire lifetime of secrets and experiences that most who encounter him are unaware of. The little droid was allegedly named after Walter Murch shouting out “Reel 2, Dialogue 2” during the sound mixing stage for George Lucas’ American Graffiti. Lucas, who was writing the script for Star Wars at the time, included the reference in his screenplay. Influenced by both the robots from the 1972 sci-fi movie Silent Running and the two peasants from Kurosawa’s 1958 Hidden Fortress, R2-D2 (or Artoo) would become a favorite of cinema-going audiences and an instantly recognizable icon of the 20th century. But just how much does anyone know about that plucky little droid…?
