Silence crept through the ballroom, with a slight breeze creeping past the wooden doors. The dim lights sparked on, making the soft walls glimmer. Her footsteps echoed through the room.

A smile shimmered across her face. She glanced down at the silver high heels on her feet, with straps spiraling up her legs. Her fingertips touched the edge of her silver dress. She took a step forward.

The room lit up as her imagination took control. She pictured her family and friends walking around the room with their eyes glued to her. The prettiest girl in the room.

Standing in the middle of the room, her eyes caught a glimpse of what she wanted. Her fingers rose from her sides. She placed her hands on the top of her head.

The diamond covered chandelier above her head shimmered with light, radiating through the room. She dreamed of the moment before her.

Lowering her hand gracefully down from her head towards her shoulder. She arched her foot up towards her knee, posing like the ballerina she admired on the stage behind her for years.

She kept her head up with a pride smile across her face. Lifting up on her toes, she twirled around with her ember hair brushing through the wind. She stopped with a smile on her face.

His eyes sparked up her world, staring straight at the wooden doors behind her. A clap of his hands made her turn. Nervously smiling at his calm grin. She had no idea he was watching her.

The girl moved her finger behind her ear, brushing her hair back in the process. She felt her heart racing in her chest, as he took a step towards her. His suit was dark under the dimmed chandelier above their heads. His blond hair was slicked back with gel and the way he walked spoke to her.

He reached his hand out for hers. The girl smiled at the bottom of his head of hair, happily touching her hand with his. He gracefully rose to her eye level, with a smile on his perfect face.

Each step made her feel weightless. She twirled around in her dress with his hand touching hers. His hands touched her skin, sending warmth across her body.

The light faded from the chandelier, dimming the ballroom. Darkness touched her skin, sending a cold feeling across her bare skin. She clung onto his eyes with each step. Her breath drifted over her lips towards his.

The feeling of his fingertips on her skin, charmed into the darkened room. His footsteps faded as quickly as they came. She stood perfectly still, realize how much she missed those days.

Walking towards the door, the girl glanced over her shoulder. She wanted to stay in the ballroom with her memories of before. His warmth touch continued to rush through her veins.

She placed her hand up to the door. Clinging onto the wooden door as a breeze drifted softly across the cracked flooring. Her eyes stared down at the floor, remembering how perfect the floor was before.

Moving her hand away from the wooden door to the ballroom, the girl took a step onto the mezzanine. She took a deep breath in. Her high heels echoed around the abandoned structure of the hotel.

Windows shattered from the harsh winds, which made a hollow sound around the interior of the building. Glass shards from the windows covered the floor. Crinkling under her footsteps.

Each minute felt like a second as she walked down the broken staircase towards the entrance. Her hand grazed down the railing by her side, shaking with each step she took. The hollow sounds of the wind echoed through her ears.

She stared down at the leaves covering the carpet floor below her high heels. A feeling of regret washed over her. She stood in the doorway of the place she once dreamed of standing in. Her head lifted at the deafening silence.

Creaking from the wooden doors charmed through the building. Her hair drifted behind her. The feeling of warmth sparkled over her body. She glanced over her shoulder, hoping to see his gaze once more.

Searching for him, the girl saw the ruins of her dream. The dim sunlight sparkled from the windows as the building creaked with each breeze drifting through the windows. Glancing away from the building, the girl stepped out of the entrance, passing the spot where he used to stand, smiling as she passed by.

Her tanned skin shimmered under the harsh sunlight. Each step she took made her skin shimmer. Blood drizzled down her silver dress, covering the sidewalk below her feet.

She took another step, hoping the pain would not be the last thing she felt. Glancing back at the entrance of the hotel. She saw him, standing by the doorway with a smile on his face, like the way he used to years before.

The last burst of the sun singed her skin. Bursting her hair into flames, the girl stared into his eyes. She felt no pain as she stepped away from him. Ashes drifted down the street, spreading across the ruins of a burning planet.
