The Two Mysteries of Our World
Without these two mysteries, we truly wouldn't know what we would do with ourselves.
This drawing I started was one of a kind for me. I had a friend come up to me and ask if I can make a tattoo design for her, not knowing what I was getting myself into.
I truly love the experience that she offered me and really bringing her ideas to life. Being an artist is more than just getting my hands dirty. It's a lifestyle it's a way of connecting to people on a deeper level than having a conversation.
Their reactions and emotions really pour out when they find something of interest. Their compassion radiates through their entire body when they find something they truly love. And I believe art is one way we can find our inner compassion without needing explanation.
Painting has always been a hobby for me. I started out drawing at the age of five. Walking around my neighborhood, a dead end street, selling little drawings of Disney characters for a dollar. My neighbor thought I was so cute because I was such a little kid trying to be an entrepreneur at such a young age. So they bought 10 of them, and that's where I began as a professional artist.
It doesn't matter what kind of art you make you can become a professional artist even with just throwing some paint on a canvas. As long as you sell your art and make a profit off of it, then you are a professional. Anything you can make money off of you can be labeled as a professional.
I paint for more than just money, honestly, it's more of a therapy for me. I've never been diagnosed but I know what I feel and what I feel is sad and this is one way to calm me down and be my therapy. Rather than taking pills and trying to regulate my hormones and chemicals in my brain I'd rather just light up a joint and start painting.
There's so many things you can do and you can take it to so many levels. I never questioned what I make all I know is what I make is what I make. There is no structure to what I make there is no guide there is no stencil. I see a blank canvas and through my eyes I see what I already want to paint. I see the finished product but what you see is just blank.
The mysteries are just two things that I really find significant in my life. Deep space has been very little traveled and discovered just like the ocean. The astronaut dances with the galaxies as if she's a beautiful woman. He looks at her because he knows he can't have her. And the diver doesn't know that the shark behind him is also what he's been wanting, a way out. These two things are relevant issues in today's exploration of the beyond. It's always been a dream of ours and we've already gotten started, but there's so much more to search and discover. Allow your self to be open-minded and creative. Making this drawing for my friend really allowed me to open my mind up even more to the ideas of the unknown. I complete the flow between them because they're both a sort of seemingly endless darkness. Without these two mysteries, we truly wouldn't know what we would do with ourselves. This is our challenge that we were given and now it's our turn to figure out what truly lies beyond us and beneath us.
