On Monday, June 3rd, at 6:02 AM EST, we will have a Full Moon at 12'33 degrees of the sign of Gemini. Here's what to expect.

What is a New Moon?

A new moon represents the beginning of the lunar cycle when the moon is conjunct the sun and invisible to the human eye. They are a good time for fresh starts and new beginnings. It is a good time to start a new project or make a radical change. It's also a good time to find clarity on what you want and release what no longer serves you. The effects of a new moon generally last for about two weeks, up until the next full moon.

With the new moon in Gemini, we can expect new beginnings related to communication and our social circles, as well as our intellect and our abilities to multitask. The new moon's effects will last up until the full moon in Sagittarius on June 17th. It may help to think back to what was going on around the time of the full moon in Scorpio on May 18th. Themes relating to the November 2018 full moon in Gemini could also be revisiting us at this time.

Pluto trine Venus will inspire more intense feelings of intimacy.

New Moon in Gemini 2019

Gemini is the sign of the twins, meaning there is a dualistic quality to those affected by this sign. Both air and mutable, Gemini is the most changeable out of all the 12 signs, trying out a new personality every day of the week. Gemini is the multitasker of the zodiac, always doing many things at once, always busy, busy, busy. As an air sign, Gemini is very smart, always wanting to explore new ideas, and very social, endlessly curious about new people and talking a mile a minute about everything and anything that interests them. Geminis are social chameleons, "the jack of all trades and master of none" (though with the mix of Gemini and Scorpio in my own chart, I like to say I'm the jack of all trades, master of all), blessed with the ability to adapt themselves to any situation.

With Gemini's ruling planet, Mercury, also in Gemini, this New Moon is very strong. We'll all be craving mental stimulation at this time. Curious Gemini seek novelty and anything that can excite their intellect. It's an excellent time for writing and researching new topics, but we could also find ourselves bored easily or experience information overload. Our communication skills will also be strengthened. If there's something we've been wanting to say, but haven't found the right words for, now is a good time to say it. The truth will come out and set you free. Gemini love their freedom most of all.

Since the Moon rules emotions, with the New Moon in Gemini, there could be a dualistic quality to our emotions at this time. We could be feeling happy and joyful one minute and sad or angry the next. We're all very moody, but it's also possible we could be more prone to intellectualizing our emotions. The New Moon in Gemini also allows us to better express our feelings verbally—openly and honestly.

The New Moon makes no major planetary aspects. However, there are a couple of major aspects between some other planets happening on that day. This will have an influence on how the New Moon will affect us. The strongest aspect is by far Venus in Taurus' trine to Pluto in Capricorn (and the South Node by extension). This aspect, which goes exact just a couple of hours before the New Moon, is all about love. Feelings of love—as well as our sex drives—will be intensified. It's a good time to schedule a romantic date. New relationships beginning at this time will be very passionate. It's also possible that this aspect can lead to the meeting of a soulmate or a twin flame. Pluto rules the occult and hidden knowledge, echoing what I said about "the truth coming out" at this New Moon. With Pluto trine Venus in Taurus, telling the truth will lead to greater intimacy.

How this New Moon will affect you depends on your natal chart. Look at your birth chart (you will need to know your birth time for this) to see which house Gemini rules. This will give you a better understanding of how the New Moon will affect you personally.
