Why 'Star Wars' Has the Worst Fans Ever

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in anger and tears over something unimportant, and honestly should have been silenced at this point.

The Last Jedi. Some Star Wars fans liked it, and other fans f**king hated it and are not only rallying for the firing of producer Kathleen Kennedy, but are also making a...remake of the movie? I don't know. It's weird.

Now, I've already written an article called, "Why 'Star Wars' Has NOT Been Ruined!", where I pretty much just criticized the complaints against The Last Jedi. But today, I'm gonna do something different. I won't just be talking about TLJ. I'll be talking about the fans. And I'll try to remain fair to everyone.

So, here's a question. Did you like Star Wars: The Last Jedi or did you absolutely hate it?

Okay, so some of you liked it, some of you hated it. Good. That's fine. The way I see it, if you loved TLJ, you're a true Star Wars fan. If you hated TLJ, you're also a true Star Wars fan. Star Wars fans have ALWAYS had their disagreements over stuff.

But there are some fans of Star Wars that I can't stand. At all. I'm not just talking about the people who hated TLJ. I'm talking about the people who won't stop f**king complaining about it. So, here is why some SW fans are the absolute worst.

Endless Complaints

TLJ was released seven months ago. Okay? Seven months ago. I don't see how commenting about how much you hate TLJ is gonna magically make the movie any better. It doesn't do anything.

And, at this point, it's not gonna improve Episode IX. J.J. Abrams has ALREADY completed the script for Episode IX, and I believe they've begun filming the movie. So, complaining about the film NOW will end up accomplishing a grand total of NOTHING.

Is this person a REAL Star Wars fan? No. And it's not because he doesn't like the sequel trilogy. But it's because he said they ruined the franchise. How do TWO MOVIES end up ruining A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, The Clone Wars, Rebels, and every other EU publication?

Because he said two movies ruined the franchise. That is a pretty bold statement given how large this franchise is.

Okay. Stupid comments like this are comments I have a problem with. Fire Rian Johnson from what? What does Johnson have to be fired from?

Johnson will not be writing or directing Episode IX. He will be making his own separate Star Wars trilogy that NO ONE will force you to watch. Not only that, but Johnson doesn't work at Disney or Lucasfilm. So, why do you want Johnson fired from NOTHING?

Really? Complaining about SJWs in Star Wars? When has the Rebellion in Star Wars NOT fought for social justice? And when has Star Wars NOT been about politics?

I've seen people complain about Star Wars being "feminist" now simply because Rey, the main protagonist of the sequel trilogy, is exceptional with the Force. Under the very same logic, the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy are officially "pro-male propaganda" because of their strong male characters.

I...have no idea whether this comment was serious or if it was sarcastic. If it's serious, then I'm gonna have to get him a therapist.

Criticism Against Actors

Honestly, I shouldn't even have to clarify this, but, believe it or not, actors and characters aren't the same thing. Are you gonna try and murder actor Ian McDiarmid because he led the Galactic Empire and tried to wipe out the Rebel Alliance?

No. Because McDiarmid was playing a character, not actually doing it. Similarly, if you didn't like Rose's character in TLJ, why the hell would you chastise actress Kelly Marie Tran over the character?

Let's take a look at Tran's Instagram.

She used to be pretty active on Instagram, but recently, the actress disappeared off her account, and all her photos and videos were deleted. This is because if you looked at the comments on everything she posted, nearly every comment was criticizing her character in TLJ.

I'm sorry. Can someone tell me how Tran, the actress playing Rose, was responsible for her character's actions? Did Kelly Marie Tran ram her ski speeder into Finn's speeder before he could sacrifice his life? No. Rose did that. So why is TRAN getting that hate?

Tran didn't write any of Rose's lines or motivations or anything. She simply acted it out. So why would you send hate toward an innocent young actress for simply playing a part in a movie?

If you didn't like Rose's character, the hate would go to Johnson, who wrote the character. But under no circumstance should any of the hate have gone to the ACTRESS.

And what somehow makes it EVEN WORSE is that the abuse Tran received isn't the only instance of a Star Wars actor receiving an absurd amount of harassment.

Do you remember Jar-Jar Binks of the prequels?

The actor who portrayed Jar-Jar, Ahmed Best, recently opened up about the amount of hate he received over his portrayal, and revealed that the hate nearly led him to commit suicide.

Suicide. F**king suicide.

Do you understand the amount of hate and anger has to be directed toward a person for them to commit suicide? All of that criticism and backlash was directed toward an actor. And over what? A comic relief character in a children's movie.

The actors portraying those characters should NEVER have received the backlash they got. I don't care if you hate the characters. But criticizing an innocent actor to the point of near suicide is absolutely unacceptable.

And so you didn't like a character in a movie. Get over it, honestly. Why can't you just keep that negativity to yourself instead of spreading hate into the world? You have nothing to gain from that. All that did was push an innocent man to the brink of ending his own life.

Actress Daisy Ridley left Instagram a few years back, and I'm glad she did. I remember back when it was her birthday, and in the comments of her Star Wars "Happy Birthday" Facebook post, Ridley was getting repulsive comments over her being a "Mary Sue" and "ruining Star Wars".

I've made this point before, and I'll make it again. Ridley is an actress. If you don't like the way Rey's character was written, then Ridley won't be able to do a damn thing for you. So, I think it's a good thing that Ridley isn't on social media, because, otherwise, she'd be facing some pretty intense hate.

It blows my mind how Star Wars fans are capable of being so hateful to actors, and it is honestly unacceptable. Again, what do you gain from hurting good people? Seriously, what benefit are you receiving from that?

Another example is Jake Lloyd, the actor who played the young Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace. Lloyd quit acting after his appearance in the film due to the constant bullying he received for the role. And he was a CHILD.

Actor John Boyega also received criticisms and racial attacks when the first trailer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out, as many were against the idea of a black Stormtrooper, and I read many comments and tweets criticizing Disney for pushing an "anti-white" campaign.

These are examples of how a ridiculously large number of Star Wars fans can be so self-absorbed and hateful that they've never stopped to think about the consequences of their constant hate against the actors in the franchise.

A Remake of 'The Last Jedi'?!

When I heard that people were trying to remake The Last Jedi, I honestly thought it was a joke. But for some godforsaken reason, people are actually doing it.

Oh, for the love of God, just stop. I mean, what exactly would a remake of The Last Jedi even look like? I'll release a comedy article in a few weeks detailing it, but there is no way this is happening.

They're gonna make The Last Jedi without Carrie Fisher? Really? That's not gonna happen. According to the site, over $400 million has been pledged to make the film.

I'm 99% sure that that is a bulls**t number. But if they really do have that amount of money, then MAKE THE MOVIE. The Last Jedi only required a $200-250 million budget, so given that they're WAY past the budget of the real thing, I'd say they should actually make it.

And if not, then the $400 million could go to a charitable organization such as the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Breast Cancer Foundation. But, like I said, if they actually have all that money, I assume they'd be making the movie at this point.

But, come on, how deranged would anyone have to be to actually believe something like this would work? And how deranged would anyone have to be to pledge money to something like this?

It's cool to have your own fan fiction for how the movie might go, but actually trying to make it into a real thing? No way in hell.

But, anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts on how horrible some Star Wars fans can be. Put simply, it's cool to hate some part of Star Wars. It's fine. But complaining over and over will do no good.

Because, after all, isn't it just a fictional franchise?
