Top 10 Best Scenes in 'Star Wars!'

Happy Star Wars Day!

Well, this is my first Star Wars Day as a true SW fan, so I would like to say to everyone reading this: Happy Star Wars Day and May the Fourth Be With You.

There are moments from the original trilogy, the sequel trilogy, and yes, even the prequel trilogy, that we all loved. Whether it was a hilarious moment or a scene that gave us chills, there were moments like this everywhere in Star Wars. So, here are my top ten favorite SW moments.

SPOILERS. But come on, you knew that. It's Star Wars Day.

In a truly heartbreaking moment, Obi-Wan Kenobi slices off the legs of his best friend, Anakin, and leaves him to burn on Mustafar after learning who he had become.

This scene is the birth of Darth Vader. You see Anakin being burned alive, and you understand how he gets his suit. There is a moment in this scene where Anakin Skywalker's heartbeat stops, and the haunting mechanical breath of Darth Vader replaces it. I love this scene.

This is an amazing movie ending. You see there is peace and celebration in the galaxy, between Naboo, Coruscant, Tatooine, and Bespin.

Luke joins Han, Leia, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, Wedge, and the Ewoks during a celebration with an AMAZING soundtrack. And Luke later turns to see the Force-ghosts of Obi-Wan, Yoda, and his redeemed father, Anakin, watching over him with pride. Not a thing could be improved in this scene.

I have no idea how it must have felt back in 1983 movie theaters when fans saw Luke take off the mask of his father, revealing his face for the first time.

But this is an extremely memorable, beautiful moment. It is in this moment when Luke Skywalker becomes a living legend. He rescued his father from the Dark Side of the Force and watched him die. This scene is beautiful.

But you know the scene I love even better? This scene.

Darth Vader watches his son being tortured by Emperor Palpatine. He hears his son cry out to him for help, and he knows what he has to do. Vader sacrifices his own life in order to save the life of his son, and that's what I loved so much about this scene.

In this scene from The Last Jedi, Luke has just sent his Force projection to Crait in order to distract Kylo Ren and the First Order and save the Resistance, using a Force ability that is unprecedentedly difficult.

The physical toil required for performing such a strenuous task takes its toll on Luke's body. He struggles to get back onto the rock, where he sits. Luke watches the binary sunset of Ahch-to, which reminds him of the twin suns of Tatooine. And he becomes one with the Force, sacrificing himself for his sister and the Resistance.

God, I love this scene.

I know I've included a lot of Vader scenes, but this scene in Rogue One is, hands down, Darth Vader's scariest scene.

The rebels are in a dark hallway, blasters pointed. All of a sudden, the hallway is illuminated by the light of Darth Vader's lightsaber. He walks towards them, easily killing, choking, and dodging all of the rebels. This scene gives all SW fans a nerdgasm, and you know it.

Every. Damn. Time.

Every time I watch this scene. Where Kylo Ren tries to pull the lightsaber, but it won't go near him. And when it flies to Rey instead, I get CHILLS.

And their lightsaber fight afterwards is proof that J.J. Abrams KILLED it with The Force Awakens. This scene was extremely exciting and entertaining.

Now, this wasn't a traditional Star Wars one-on-one lightsaber battle, but GOD, this scene was absolutely amazing.

We have Kylo kill his true enemy, Snoke, an amazing score by John Williams, and an amazingly choreographed lightsaber battle in which Rey and Kylo team up to fight the Praetorian guards. The Last Jedi had its flaws, but is this the best scene in the movie? Hell. Yes.

This scene was, no doubt, the climax of the original Star Wars movie back in 1977. And this is what made the whole movie.

We have the Rebels, who need to destroy the Death Star before the Death Star destroys the Rebel base, and the amount of excitement in this scene is amazing. And we have Luke performing his very first act that would make him a legend.

This. THIS is the most iconic moment in Star Wars history.

Darth Vader cuts off Luke's hand and reveals to him that HE is Luke's father. You can see the suffering on Luke's face when he realizes this to be true.

And not only was this scene breathtaking and iconic, but it is the best plot twist I have ever seen in a movie. Period.

Alright, that's it!

So, what do you think? Do you agree with my list? You probably don't. But hey—we're Star Wars fans. You honestly think we'd agree on anything? But on a serious note, Happy Star Wars Day.
