Wyatt You Talking About? Evan Rachel Wood Confirms The Identity Of The Big Villain In 'Westworld'

Someone had better look at Westworld's golden girl, because it looks like the show's lead got a little spoiler-happy on her social media. If you don't want to read any spoilers from HBO's robo-romp, it is best that you go for a stroll around Sweetwater Hills. As for the rest of us, we are going down into cold storage to pull the twist from the depths of Arnold Weber's world.

You remember those games you used to play where you guess the person from a series of pictures, well it looks like Evan Rachel Wood is a fan, only adding to the subterfuge of #Westworld's complex maze of questions and answers. Why no one spotted this until now is anyone's guess, because her Instagram post drops one hell of a bombshell on Westworld and the identity of the gunslinging Wyatt.

Why, Why, Wyatt?

Do you remember that annoying fad of "describe yourself in three fictional characters," yeah, it was about as much fun as "is this dress blue or gold?" However, describing Dolores in three fictional characters gives us a great WTF (What the Ford) moment, so let's break it down:

Alice from Alice in Wonderland is clearly Dolores herself. As Jonathan Nolan has said, his main inspirations for the character were an Andrew Wyeth painting and Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. There have been other nods to Alice with Bernarnold reading her adventures to his son Charlie, while Dolores's trip from her mundane life mirrors the rabbit hole-loving maiden.

Next, the red-eyed menace from the Terminator series implies that not everything about the wholesome farm girl is all oil paintings and orgies. We have already seen Dolores develop some unnaturally good gun skills, almost as if they are hiding in here "deleted" subconscious. The HUGE reveal that Dolores killed Arnold is testament to her wicked streak, but are things about to get even worse?

Finally, Kurt Russell. Is Evan Rachel Wood going to grow a moustache in the finale? Does she secretly love Goldie Hawn? Well, film aficionados will know that the image comes from the 1993 film Tombstone. The wild western stars Russell as — wait for it — legendary lawman Wyatt Earp.

Dolores the evil robot is Wyatt!

The internet was already awash with rumors, but heading into the finale, it is a thrilling conclusion if Dolores is the massacring mechanoid. It all makes sense now, especially given the show's wordplay: "Dolores is Wyatt" is an anagram for "Si Wyatt Dolores" — Spanish for "Yes Wyatt Dolores," boom, mind blown!

No seriously though, the signs have been there for a while, so congrats to the Westworld subredditors who picked up on the hints.

The Double Bluff

However, could R.E.W. have just shoved us down the aforementioned warren? Showrunners Nolan and Joy, as well as J.J. Abrams and the entirety of HBO would be none too pleased that their lead actor had spilled the twist five weeks early. Given the likes of #HBO's other show Game of Thrones, cast members are normally tied into contractual obligations that they can't give too much away.

In short — nope. She is deffo Wyatt. I just don't see who else Wyatt would be. It doesn't make sense that this mysterious character would literally just be someone we have never met, unless Sorin Brouwers, who plays faux Wyatt, is going to become a big player in Season 2.

"Episode 9" laid it out pretty clearly, well in terms of Westworld riddles, that Arnold was "The General" that Dolores laid waste to. We also know that Wyatt apparently turned the gun on himself, which we also see Dolores do in one of her many flashback/forward/sideways reveries.

After to a trip to the maze, we have already seen Maeve take a knife to her own throat when she couldn't deal with the trauma she had suffered. So, in "Episode 10" we should expect Dolores to reach the center of the maze (again), get some sort of humanity, then do some badass murdery before a final brains blowout. We only have to wait a few more days, so hold on to your circuits, kids, Dolores won't be the only one to be sliced open before the season is out.
