That Monsters Can Be Defeated
Horror is about… being scared. Therefore it’s also about pain. We fear pain, suffering, and death, and those are some of the only sure things in real life. So horror is also about how we face those realities and what that means for us as humans. At its best, it’s also about examining that which inflicts pain: real-life “monsters” like trauma, sexual predators, harmful industrial and political systems, social injustice, even climate change. We use fantastic or horrific metaphor to illustrate real-life horror and dread and then face them head-on—so we know they can be defeated.

The Internet REALLY Wants Danny DeVito to Be Detective Pikachu - Do You?
Sometimes you come across something so strange, so unlikely, so out there, so beautifully unexpected, so demonstrative of this strange and wonderful universe in which we live, it just makes you... write an article about it.

Cutest Planter Ever (It's A Grass Type!)
You have a problem. You have some wonderful flowers or succulent plants (or some other greenery, we don't judge you here at Moviepilot), but your pots are drab, and not nearly cute enough. Or nostalgic. I ask you, if you aren’t laid low by a wave of nostalgia when you look at your houseplants, what’s the point?

The "Bravest" Cosplay We've Ever Seen
Today in fandom excellence, we're bringing you an all-grown-up Merida from the Disney feature film "Brave." This would be a great cosplay idea and execution on its own, but this shoot took "Bravery" to the extreme... by including an ACTUAL BEAR. You read that right, ladies, gentlemen and non-binary beings. A freaking bear. Who apparently likes to give sloppy bear kisses.

Amazing Kida and Milo Cosplay from Atlantis: The Lost Empire!
We all love movies, and the people who make them are brilliant. We look up to the actors, writers and artists who make our favorite stories come to life - but sometimes we forget that the fans can be amazing, creative and dedicated people too.

Writing While Sick, Depressed, Scared, And Other Deadly Sins
I write things. Obviously; you're reading this now. #Writing is my life. And my life is also made up of a veritable cornucopia of suck. Mostly in the form of chronic illnesses, pain, and a brain that would much rather do anything besides writing, including dying immediately. And I figure some of you might be in the same boat here, so let's talk about writing while... well, the title.

Not Gay As In Happy, Queer As In Fetishizing His Own Sadness: 7 Reasons Bojack Horseman Isn't Straight
Season 4 is on the horizon, the trailer has landed and my excited brain is wandering back into bleak-but-hilarious Bojack Horseman-land. There's one specific fan theory I'm convinced actually might be true: Bojack Horseman is a deeply repressed gay or bisexual man. (Horse? Horse-man.)

It's A Kinda Magic: All You Need To Know About Rock Royalty Freddie Mercury
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? We've patiently awaited the release of #BryanSinger's Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody for what feels like forever. So far, pretty much all we know consists of the fact that Sacha Baron Cohen, who was long touted to star, dropped out of the project in 2013, with Rami Malek stepping in last year to replace him as the Queen frontman. Original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor will be acting as music producers, while the screenplay is being reshaped by Anthony McCarten of The Theory of Everything.
