Second Place
Recently, met a woman who was pretty much what I would call "dream girl." Physically stunning, curious, extremely hard working and caring, plus tattoos. It was a range of superficial pieces I enjoyed mixed in with a lot of depth, insight, and intellect. I would beam with enjoyment and excitement when the opportunity arose to speak.

Drying Paint
Average day, swipe left, swipe right. Hoping that I would find someone who would fit me just right, or at least be an interesting experience at the end of the day. I ended up matching with a lovely gal from the islands of Canada. She was new to the city out here in the west and still getting comfortable with the city after a year. Our text conversations seemed to be going great. They were engaging and thoughtful. We seemed to share the same aspects of life.

Nurturing a New Relationship
I may be a little bit of a romantic with relationships—why they form and what makes the successful ones function. Reflecting on the people that some might know in their lives, some couples seem to embody what the "perfect relationship" should be. Arctic Circle and Space
Venture far enough north in the freezing climate of Norway, Finland and Sweden and you may be a little surprised to come across satellites and facilities located in the middle of nowhere. Stumbling upon this would arise suspicion for most. Who could blame them? I for sure, would be skeptical with the arrangement.

The 'Why' Game
Why? Why? Why? But Why? For most of us, this why game from young children eventually hits a point where we will become exasperated from the never-ending questions that can seem to rain down. After a long day, many people might lack the energy to seriously engage in this playful but very useful component of child development. The question might not be an easy why, but why not engage and develop cognitive skills as early as possible to foster a lifelong ability to be curious about the world?

Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Sitting on the bus, something I have done a thousand times at this point. Same stops, same people, pretty much the same driver. The environment around me hasn't changed and the day has started similarly to every other day. But today... today I can't seem to breathe normally. Shallow, swallowed, and paused. I start over. Breathe slower and deeper. I can't get control over my breathing. I feel my body stress and my mind starts to get involved.

I'm Sentimental
Over the course of my hockey career I have had the opportunity to travel. I love it and it is such a different way to see the world than most. We are dropped into a new place but made to feel like it is home straight away. From being toured around the city or town to welcoming faces offering to help settle us in.
